This is a real pain, the phone rings, someone comes to the door, or you have something else to do that's far more important than constantly using TheFilter's site, and you get signed out. You might have opened a few windows in TheFilter and they all need opening again, a simple refresh after signing in on one window does not sign them all back in. This is either very lazy programming or a sense of importance that will not go down well if it's like this when released publically. I like the idea of TheFilter, but this problem along with very odd recommendations ( how much does Paris Hilton, her agent or label pay to get recommended as being similar to Chicken Lips?! / as well as the repeated recommendations of some albums that I've rated as lower than 20% on the sliding scale, same reasons?) TheFilter being a real resource hog amongst other things makes using this beta something that only a paid tester would find the time for. I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.14 on XP.
A lot more work is needed on the music recommendations, a lot of artists I've checked out on here have no linked recommendations or some very bizarre ones, meaning not similar at all, if this site aims to become popular it will have to cover most bases rather than the predicatable ones. A major trend in music availability since the advent of computer files, rather than hard copies, being the main format, is that there's an increased availability of genres, this needs to be reflected on this site, i.e. Dubblestandart, admittedly not household names everywhere, but well known within their genre, they are not linked to anything in the recommendations here today, 23.04.08.
