When trying to run the Filter application after installing I am getting:

AppChecker.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging Services:

 Application has generated an exception that could not be handled:

Process id=0x1b0(432), Thread id=0x1618(5656)

When I disassemble the app I get a SecurityException was unhandled in AutoUpdater.Program.Main

I forgot to add that my profile is a roaming profile on a network drive 

Does anyone have any ideas? 

Hmm, this is a puzzler... the application is installed into your profile directory, and historically .NET has had problems with trust when dealing with network drives.

Aren't roaming profiles generally copied to your C drive at login, and synced back to a server on logout?

I'll try and do some testing on it and get back to you... perhaps setting the app to requiring higher permission levels might be the answer, although suspect Vista will come and bite us then :(

Ok, have got around to looking at this now... (sorry for delay)

Looks to me like applications running off a network server run in the "Local Intranet" zone, rather than "My Computer" zone.

There are a couple of options that spring to mind, which I need to look into:

1. Get application to request Full Trust permissions either during installation or runtime (might cause Vista UAC's prompts though).
2. Write out guide to granting trust, although if your network like this one it probably won't let you :(
