    Application...

I just got the application earlier this afternoon and installed.  On the pc that I am using it on, or attempting to use it on, I have roughly 80 songs.  Yet its been idle it seems on the "Catalogue Process" step for like 2 hours.  I restarted the Filter and it resumed where it left off right before I closed the app.  What gives?  Does it take that long to process under 100 songs?

     Thanks.

    Re: Application...

No, it should take a minute tops to process such a small number of songs...

The progress dialog will only show items successfully processed though, that's a known issue that I haven't addressed yet.

Might be worth posting some of your log here, to see if it's processing any songs - look for MusicDirectoryProcessor.Process lines.

To open your logs directory click the button on the preferences forms maintenance tab.

In truth with such a small number of songs your chance of getting any playlists out of the client are small. They will still affect your recommendations on the website though.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

i am having the same problem. however it gets to the very end but then stops. it's going through around 1000 songs, but i keep checking the log and it always stops around the same place, either at checking some folder that i didn't tell it to (Previous iTunes Library Folder, i believe), or some song (after i moved the other folder). then with only a small sliver left in the progress log it stops doing anything.

here i thought i done with bugs. :\

    i'm using Windows XP.

    Re: Application...

    Hi,

As I said above, the progress dialog only reports files successfully decoded and identified on the server. Any failures will not be counted, hence you may think it has stopped.

I can assure you, it processes all files it can (in the configured directories), then stops.

It's not possible for the application to search an area of your harddrive that it has not been configured to do. Check your preferences file...

Send your log and preferences to support if you are still convinced this is the case!

    Cheers,

Are there then any additional steps I must take after the client has catalogued my music? Because the client doesn't recognize anything (I'm assuming the client gives recommendations when I double-click the tray icon) I play, and the box doesn't go away.

Nope, just be playing a track in iTunes, WMP or Winamp, wait for the now playing popup then double-click the tray icon (or hit the button on the popup). If you're still having problems grab your logs and email them with your username to support@thefilter.com Thanks, Westy

Hmm ... that now playing popup never comes up. I suppose that's the problem.

And should I reset my library, have it go through everything again, and then send that log, or does it not matter?

    Re: Application...

Shouldn't matter; sounds like it's not managing to receive events from your player of choice, which is strange.

Which player do you use, and which version?

Still might be worth sending in your logs so can have a look.

    Cheers,

    Westy
