    Video Recommendations

Where do the videos come from, and why are certain ones shown when others are not? In other words, how does The Filter choose particular videos from the massive number on YouTube and other sites and then present them to its users. Is there a place to recommend videos? Is it based entirely on my recorded preferences? On another note, do you think you guys will ever create a comprehensive FAQ explaining how the site works, how to interact with it, etc.?

    Re: Video Recommendations

    Hi Brad,

Thanks for this. Currently, the videos you can see are  sourced from a range of providers - not just YouTube. They are an aggregation of, among others, videos from YouTube, DailyMotion, StumbleUpon, and so on. Currently, we just 'filter' them loosely by category, and not by the same clever algorithms we use for music recommendations. But we're working on it!

A s for an FAQ section, that's another thing we've got on our 'to do' list, although in an upcoming release (in about 10 days) we hope that the homepage will explain more clearly what we're about.

Thanks for using the Filter, and keep on posting those questions (promise we'll get back to you a bit quicker next time!).

    All the best,

    Andy
