  • Playlists aren't as good as they were with standalone app

    The Filter plug in is a lot more preferable to the old stand alone application; but the playlists it generates just don't seem as good. I'm not talking about functionality issues like being able to auto extend and the like but the actual songs it chooses are not as appropriate to the seed track...

    I have the exact same question. Although the playlist function works sporadically for me at least (problems with our server message) I sometimes get 10-14 songs. I would like to make it around 25 songs. I hope this will be possible. I use the Windows application. Not sure if it's different on the...

  • I am confussed

    This service used to be about producing meaningful playlists for my ipod and suggesting music that i dont yet own for download. Has this completely gone away as I dont see it anywhere on the new site. I assume the 'purpose' of the filter has changed to a media orientated social networking site...

    Well the algorithm is relatively complex. We match tracks to tracks, or artists to tracks. These matchings are based on the known cross references based on sales data we have - which runs to millions or purchases ( from Nokia and others). We then do some post parsing based on your known play history...
